Fun facts
This took 10 metres of yellow bias binding.
My (grossly overindulgent) father made the bracelets from wood and slices of industrial cardboard roll . I think these really make the costume and were a tonne of fun to wear.
The body was a cannibalised McCall’s pattern – I drafted the full sleeves and petals (I love elborate sleeves!) and lengthened the collar for a more dramatic line and split and narrowed the skirt.
I made a black leotard for modesty, and teamed it with coffee coloured dance tights.
